Considering All the Options
One thing I never fully considered when researching MBA programs was an online platform. My preconception was that the sole beneficiaries of online degrees were the schools themselves and that an online degree involved watching tons of boring prerecorded lectures, shown year after year. And while that may be true of some programs, I have learned that the W. P. Carey Online MBA provides a great value.
For example, the same award-winning professors in the Full-time and Evening platforms also teach our Online MBA courses, creating new content for each online class and interacting regularly with students. It’s the same core curriculum. There are areas of emphasis — just like the Part-time Evening and Full-time MBA — so you can tailor what you study to your career goals. And Online MBA students receive the same career support from our Graduate Career Center. Another huge benefit of the online platform is the ability to concurrently earn a dual degree in engineering. The two degrees share credits, so instead of getting one master’s degree and then another, you’re saving time and money by combining them.
If you would prefer to work while earning an MBA, I would highly encourage you to look into our Online MBA. I think the fact that the school has a 95% graduation rate and we're one of about 50 AACSB-accredited schools that offer an online degree says a lot. And now, for the first time, U.S. News & World Report has ranked online MBA programs, and W.P. Carey is one of only 14 schools named to its inaugural Honor Roll.
Because online learning is a little different than a traditional classroom setting, the rankings are evaluating slightly different things. It’s academic quality and the faculty, of course, but it’s also student engagement, the admissions selectivity, and the technology and student services. And of the schools that made the U.S. News honor roll, W. P. Carey is one of only five ranked in the top 40 in every category. When you think about how many online programs there are in the country, that’s really saying something.
Here’s another point to consider: Of the schools that made the honor roll, only W. P. Carey is also ranked Top 30 for Full-time and Part-time programs by U.S. News. Top 30 for full-time programs, part-time programs, and the online MBA honor roll — one of only two schools in the country that can say that.
If you’re leaning towards getting your MBA online, or even if you’d never thought of it before now, you really should take a look at the W. P. Carey Online MBA.
