W. P. Carey launches a new blended format for EMBA program

The W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU has added a new blended format for the Executive MBA. It mirrors the excellent learning opportunities of the original program, with the same attention and commitment from faculty, and sense of community with classmates — but gives students the opportunity to spend less time away from work.

The W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU has added a new blended format for the Executive MBA. It mirrors the excellent learning opportunities of the original program , with the same attention and commitment from faculty, and sense of community with classmates — but gives students the opportunity to spend less time away from work.

Starting August of 2020, the first cohort will be introduced and will participate in face-to-face classes on Friday and Saturday once a month. The program will consist of extensive learning opportunities using asynchronous and synchronous components.

Every other Saturday, students will be able to attend virtual live class sessions. They will also be able to attend those same classes in person, giving them the opportunity to physically interact and network with each other, their instructors, and second-year students.

The new changes will significantly reduce the number of weekends of travel to campus — from 37 to 20 for the 21-month program — and ease the complication of missing work by 17 days. Another positive is that travel scholarships will continue for those commuting to Phoenix. The program will include around 50 students, in order to maximize the interaction among students and faculty which is and will continue to be, a defining characteristic of our program.

After years of building the highly ranked Online MBA, W. P. Carey has gained expertise in navigating and utilizing digitally-enhanced and virtual content. Our EMBA program will include videos, readings, exercises, group work, Zoom conferences, and other engaging and relevant material.

As the 2020-2021 academic year kicks-off, additional networking events will be scheduled to provide opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to get together.

If you have friends or colleagues who are considering an Executive MBA, please let them know about our new blended W. P. Carey School of Business EMBA. We have a limited number of alumni referral scholarships available. To learn more about the program, visit our website.
