Spring 2025 W. P. Carey Dean's Medalists honored at celebratory luncheon
Top grads from each program recognized for academic excellence and lasting impact on the ASU community.
Each graduation season, the W. P. Carey School of Business honors the top graduating student from each degree program as a Dean's Medalist. The designation, from one of the most highly ranked and largest business schools in the U.S., recognizes students for standing out as the best among the best.
"Each of you is very deserving of this honor in recognition of your exceptional work that you have done while earning your degree," said Amy Ostrom, vice dean, interim chair of the Department of Marketing, and PetSmart Chair in Services Leadership, who moderated the luncheon honoring the medalists. "You all should be incredibly proud of this designation."
Ohad Kadan, Charles J. Robel Dean and W. P. Carey Distinguished Chair in Business, also shared remarks with the recipients at a luncheon. "This is an honor that you have earned," he said. "You are critical thinkers, you are problem solvers. You have amazing communication skills, quantitative skills. You have worked hard in everything you have done, and you are the best of the best."

Dean's Medalist students will join a Sun Devil network that spans the globe. Already, honorees have recognized the power of that network.
"I am so grateful for the recognition," said Rashi Duttagupta (BS Artificial Intelligence in Business/Data Analytics/Computer Information Systems '25), the recipient of the Bachelor of Science in artificial intelligence in business medal. "I cannot fully express how excited I was to receive this award alongside my best friend, whom I met freshman year — a true testament to the incredible experience W. P. Carey has been for both my professional and personal life!"
Nicholas Brockelman (MACC '25), recipient of the Master of Accountancy and Data Analytics medal, said, "As an older student returning to school, I was nervous about making this big change in my life. Being a Dean's Medalist at the end of this process is, in a way, validation that I made the right decision. It is also a recognition of the hard work and commitment to the journey of this past year."
The Dean's Medalists received medallions to wear at convocation, a certificate denoting the recognition, and professional photos with the dean. Students networked with school leadership and each other throughout the luncheon before officially joining a network of more than 130,000 alums across 160-plus countries and all 50 states when they cross the stage next week.
