Trump proposal to cap credit card interest rates sparks debate over impact on consumers

ASU economist says interest rate ceiling may help some but hurt others.

It's likely to mean a lot less credit available to those folks. It's tough to pay higher credit rates. It's tougher if you don't have any access to credit. This type of intervention is not typically what we have done in a free-market capitalist economy, such as the United States, historically. So it's a new world for sure.
