Evening MBA builds confidence and AI fluency for marketing leader Abby Losinski
The Evening MBA program at W. P. Carey has made it possible for Abby Losinski (MBA '26) to balance it all — gaining immediately applicable skills and knowledge to propel her career as a brand manager at ASU.

Balancing a full-time career with graduate degree studies is a significant commitment. Proud Sun Devil Abby Losinski (MBA '26) has found the process to be incredibly rewarding. The Evening MBA program at ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business has made it possible for her to balance it all — gaining immediately applicable skills and knowledge to propel her career as a brand manager at the university.
"The flexibility of the Evening MBA program is the only way that I've been able to fit this into my current stage of life," Losinski says. "It's a lot of work, and it's very challenging, but in the best way possible. Even through the busy schedule, I've been able to maintain the relationships in my life that are very important to me."
Losinski, who majored in journalism in her undergraduate studies, has built a holistic understanding of business and strategy, including the critical and growing role of artificial intelligence. She spoke with W. P. Carey News about how the Evening MBA is shaping the vision for her career, as well as the positive impact of collaborating with faculty and classmates.
Why W. P. Carey?
The Evening MBA experience at W. P. Carey is specifically designed for people like Losinski: Working professionals looking to upgrade their skills while continuing their careers. Students are able to choose the days and times that classes fit best within their schedule, and some courses are available 100% online.
There is also flexibility within courses, thanks to faculty members who understand the unique situation their students are in. "The professors make it incredibly easy for us," says Losinski. "They do everything that they can to make the program really flexible, which is much appreciated. If work trips or other sorts of obligations come up, they always find ways that we can make up exams or join classes through Zoom."
The program emphasizes teamwork and provides ample opportunities for students to collaborate and get to know each other. This creates enriched classroom discussions and fosters relationships beyond the classroom.
"I've met some of my closest friends in the state of Arizona, and I know that those relationships will continue post graduation," says Losinski. "We are very close as a cohort. We have various forms of communication, ranging from our academic responsibilities to social get-togethers that we planned throughout the weeks and on the weekends as well."
“The connections are the best part of the program,” she adds.
Why an MBA?

Courses in the Evening MBA have immersed Losinski in business fundamentals that her undergraduate journalism studies didn’t cover. Along the way, she’s learned to ask better questions, think more strategically, apply new lenses to everything she’s doing, and try to find better solutions on a daily basis.
“I’ve been exposed to tools and topics that I didn’t know anything about before,” she says. “These overarching concepts are going to be incredibly useful in any kind of setting that I work in in the future.”
Losinski’s MBA concentration in leadership has been eye-opening. A course focusing on organizational behavior stood out, providing a deeper dive into team dynamics and how to best interact with others in the workplace.
"We all shared our experiences of what makes a good leader, what makes a poor leader, specific management styles, and things like that," she says. "I think that really helped me understand my team and different personalities that we all have and the ways to most effectively work together."
Losinski also chose an MBA concentration in artificial intelligence, adding even more depth to her education and experience. “I've been able to implement some of the tools that I've used in the AI classes into my everyday work to try to help our team overall work a bit faster,” she says.
What's next?

Discovering the kind of leader she wants to become has been the biggest takeaway from Losinski’s Evening MBA journey so far. “I now have a holistic understanding of a business,” she says. “A lot of my classes, particularly those related to leadership, have been incredibly helpful in framing the way that I strategize and operate.”
It's also been a personal achievement for her, reaching a goal she set out for herself while balancing work, school, and her personal life. "The program is incredibly challenging, but it's something that I pushed myself to do, and it was something that I knew that I really wanted to do for my career," she says. "It's always something that I'll look back on and be really proud of.”
