I don't think it is inherently bad to only have VISA. I think it is good to have multiple credit cards in case one is lost or stolen, or if an account issue renders a card unusable for a while. It is rare for a merchant to accept Mastercard but not VISA, but if that happens, some people may want to have both, especially if you travel overseas.
