MBA Olympic Greatness
This past weekend, our program held one of the funnest (and not to mention funniest) events of the year — the MBA Olympics. As one of our core annual events, the MBA Olympics is an opportunity for MBA students to test their strength, wit and dancing ability.
The Olympics kicked off with the torch run and lighting of the cauldron. This year’s torch bearer was none other than Professor Andrea Morales, a student favorite, who teaches the first year core marketing class.
After the lighting it was time for each team to get introduced and perform a prepared cheer. The Purple People Eaters put a lot of effort into this stage. They spent all night the evening before making uniforms, and even designed a mascot: a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater (it didn’t fly unfortunately).
After the cheers, the games began. Events included cornhole, volleyball, kickball, a relay race and tug of war. Teams were are also judged for best dressed, best cheer, and best name. With a solid all-around performance this year’s winners were the Orange Iguanas. They sealed their victory with a great performance in the relay race where teams were required to put on a suit and ride a toddler’s bike across the field.
