Sarbanes-Oxley 404(b) provides investor value after all

For investors, how important are mandated internal control audits? Professor of Accountancy Phillip Lamoreaux and his co-authors are the first to investigate this in a new study.

In an article Dec. 17, 2018, on CFO:

Aside from the Public Company Accountancy Oversight Board’s recent focus and inspection efforts, regulators have continually reduced the scope and extent of mandated internal control audits. Our results suggest that future reductions … may be viewed negatively by investors.
