The flexibility of a W. P. Carey MBA
The whole point of getting your MBA is to further your career. So it's important to look for a b‑school that offers the flexibility you need to get ahead, and an MBA program that aligns with your short- and long-term career goals.
If everyone returned to business school trying to get the exact same job after graduation, there would only need to be one standard, inflexible MBA. You’d learn through theory but never practice, and everyone could contribute — and take away — the same information from each class. In reality, we're out here vying for vastly different jobs in vastly different fields. A rigid MBA could never scale to meet the diverse knowledge and skills requirements of every industry or career path. In that sense alone, a rigid MBA is wrong for all of us.

Pairing career focus with flexibility
What sets the W. P. Carey MBA apart — and what will set you apart — is the opportunity to dive deeper. Concentrations, concurrent degrees, and a massive variety of electives will not only enhance your MBA, they’ll also help you build new strengths that are aligned with your professional aspirations.
Concentrations
Available to Full-time MBA students. Develop deep expertise in business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, health care management, information management, international business, leadership, marketing, sports business, supply chain management, sustainability, and more. While specific areas of study can vary by MBA program, all are an opportunity to focus your studies beyond the core curriculum and focus your skills, as well.
Concurrent degrees
Available to Full-time, Professional Flex, and Online MBA students. Although they obviously require a great deal of work, there are advantages to pursuing concurrent degrees. For one, they give you a chance to earn two degrees for less money and in less time than earning them separately. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. ASU is a large university that supports interdisciplinary collaboration — so the possibilities are practically endless. Some of our most popular concurrent degrees include the W. P. Carey Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MS-BA), Master of Accountancy (MACC), and the list goes on.
Electives
Available to Full-time, Professional Flex, and Online MBA students. To help round out your W. P. Carey MBA experience, dozens of electives are offered that can be part of your concentration or taken separately to grow your overall business acumen. International and off-site electives can also help you see business from different perspectives around the world.
The ability to hone in on one or two areas of expertise or cultivate general knowledge across a number of disciplines will help you distinguish yourself after earning your MBA.
The bottom line
