State Farm: Helping people manage life’s risks

State Farm Insurance is building a $600 million regional hub in Tempe, and it’s beefing up its local workforce. Michael Tipsord, vice chairman, president, and chief operating officer of State Farm Insurance Companies, addressed the Economic Club of Phoenix, sharing information about the company’s growth and how it will benefit customers, employees, and the Phoenix area.
Tipsord is a lawyer and a certified public accountant, who has served in various leadership positions at State Farm since 1988. He also serves as an honorary trustee of the Brookings Institution, a nonprofit creating research and innovative policy solutions on various global issues.
This event is part of the 30th season of the Economic Club of Phoenix speaker series. The club, associated with the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, has become the preeminent Arizona forum for the exchange of ideas about business and the economy.
