What's the significance of Taser changing its name to Axon?

Taser International, the Scottsdale-based company known for its stun guns, has changed its name to Axon — the name of its line of body cameras. In this 91.5 KJZZ podcast on April 7, 2017, Wiles says:
I think it makes a lot of sense for them to rename the company in terms of one of their more successful divisions ... because that's where a lot of their growth is going to come from in the future.
