Amazon acquires Whole Foods
Brick-and-mortar bookstore and electronic retailers have been struggling since Amazon came into the market. Now there may be challenges for retail grocers since the online giant started its deal with the natural and organic foods market.
Supply Chain Management Professor Elliot Rabinovich believes the shopping experience is going change.

“Increasingly you’re going to see that as people get more comfortable buying products online, groceries will carry less inventory in store,” he said. Stores will be more experiential, focused on exposing people to new products, selling prepared meals, and doing tastings. “It may increasingly become more of a showroom type of experience rather than just go and stock up.”
