At the conclusion of each academic year, the W. P. Carey Teaching and Learning program honors outstanding faculty with a series of awards. Honorees are chosen by peers and leadership for the excellence they bring to the classroom and their research. The 2023-24 teaching award honorees embody the W. P. Carey mission to spark "positive change in business and society on a global scale by educating students and growing talent to enrich and lead organizations."

W. P. Carey is proud to recognize excellence and impact in teaching in the six categories listed below that are nominated and selected by faculty. Honorees will share summaries of their teaching practices for use with faculty onboarding and development.

The winners of the "Entrepreneurial Approach to Learning" Teaching Innovation Award are Doug Olsen (marketing) and Antonios Printezis (supply chain management).

Julia LaRosa (management and entrepreneurship) and Brian Sadusky (finance) are winners of the "Business Is Personal" Inclusive Teaching Award.

Winners of the "Rethinking Business Education" Outstanding Online Teaching Award are Steve Orpurt, Karen Geiger, and Norm Coulter (accountancy) and Alexander Hill (economics).

Eddie Davila (supply chain management) and Christopher Neck (management and entrepreneurship) are winners of the Huizingh Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award.

Erin Jordan (accountancy) won the Huizingh Outstanding Undergraduate Service to Students Award.

Winners of the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award are Blake Ashforth (management and entrepreneurship), Artur Hugon (School of Accountancy), and Andrea Morales (marketing).

Daniel Gruber, associate dean for teaching and learning, is proud to honor the many outstanding faculty members at W. P. Carey. "With awards spanning undergraduate and graduate teaching as well as inclusive teaching, innovative teaching, and online teaching that are linked to our ASU Charter and W. P. Carey strategic plan, it is inspiring to see just how much intentionality and dedication our faculty bring to their classes," Gruber says.

In addition to the award winners, the Dean's List for Teaching Impact recognizes the breadth of teaching excellence and impact taking place across W. P. Carey. Gruber says, "For the fifth year in a row, we have over 50 faculty included on our Dean’s List for Teaching Impact, which is remarkable." The list includes the finalists for the six teaching awards listed above.
