Which economic issues drive older Arizonans to the polls?
An ASU economist discusses economic issues important to Arizonan voters over 50, including social security, housing availability, and inflation.
In this story aired Aug. 28, 2024, on Arizona PBS:
It is fixable. The easiest fix is raising the cap on social security for those who earn more than $170,000 a year... If you earn more than $170,000 approximately, you don't pay into social security. So, if you raise that cap, more and more high-income people will pay in and you'll be able to fund social security.
