We are dedicated to nurturing interpersonal relationships and creating tight-knit communities that make our master's degree and MBA students feel right at home.
"You walk past people, and it's such a friendly environment. It's almost like a second home because you spend so much time there and get to know everyone," says Shale Brenner (MBA '24). "They really do try to make Where Business is Personal true. The school wants you to be involved."
Meet a dedicated graduate student support team

"They sent a follow-up email after an event in New York, specifically referencing goals I had shared with them," says Elvis Diaz (MBA '19) about his experience working with W. P. Carey graduate recruiters. "That's when I knew that it is a school Where Business is Personal because the intentionality in getting to know who you are and understanding that was actually valid."
Form lasting relationships with peers and faculty members
W. P. Carey cultivates a supportive environment Where Business is Personal, reinforcing collaboration and feedback so every student can thrive in and out of the classroom. Smaller class sizes and team-based learning enable students to learn from each other and form meaningful relationships with peers and faculty members. "In all avenues, professional and personal, the staff, faculty, and students champion success for one another," says Catherine Phillips (MBA '24), who saw this support first-hand after an injury.
"In December 2022, I tore my left Achilles tendon, and I spent 2023 repairing and strengthening the ankle. This school and cohort supported me throughout the entire process, making concessions for me to attend class, assisting with post-surgery needs, providing transportation … you name it, they did it," she says. "This is what Where Business is Personal means. We all entered this program together, and we're committed to completing it together as a unit."
