Internship or Bust

After working for six years as an engineer, I quit my job, came back to school and then…immediately started looking for a new job. Make no mistake: At W. P. Carey you start looking for your dream job the day you arrive on campus. I certainly haven’t had to do it on my own, and I can honestly say I’ve never been given this level of assistance before. The dedicated Graduate Career Center has helped me polish my resume, write cover letters and prepare for interviews. They’ve also organized company information sessions on almost a daily basis. And because a lot of these companies only hire through these channels, I never would have had the opportunity to speak to hiring managers like this if I wasn’t going to school here. The recruitment season began with a bang with the annual Company Networking Night. Hiring managers from over 20 amazing companies — including Intel, Dell, Johnson & Johnson and Cisco — met with the MBA students. Many held interviews the very next day.
