A Small World After All
I headed out early Thursday morning and after six hours of driving, arrived in Anaheim, the site of this year’s annual NSHMBA conference. I was not alone, as over 50 W. P. Carey students made the trip this year (a school record). Some flew, but most of us made the journey in packed cars. Before heading to the conference we all did a little sightseeing. A big group headed to Disneyland, to relive their youth. I headed to Hollywood and also checked out the Santa Monica Pier.
The conference kicked off Friday morning with a bang (literally). Everyone rushed the floor to get to their first-choice companies. NSHMBA provided a great opportunity, especially for those who came prepared and are specializing in marketing and finance. Many W. P. Carey students had multiple job and internship interviews at great companies including Amazon, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson and Target.
My overall impressions of the NSHMBA conference were positive and I would say the opportunities available justify the trip costs and $200+ entrance fee. Not to mention we all got to have a little fun as well.
