U. S. News & World Report recently announced the 2017 ranking of Graduate Information Systems Programs. I am delighted to report that our graduate IS program ranked number 10 in the latest rankings. This is an improvement of two places over the previous rankings announced in 2015. Rankings are a significant affirmation of the effort we put into creating high quality programs that meet and exceed expectations of our students and recruiters. It is a testament to the quality and dedication of our faculty and staff. I want to take this opportunity to thank the members of our Executive Council, Executive Advisory Board, alumni and current students for their support and engagement in our academic mission. The top ranking is a recognition of the vibrant collaborative community we have created to advance knowledge in the information systems domain. We continue to innovate and respond to what our stakeholders need today and in the future. We are making great progress in revising our undergraduate information systems curriculum.

The changes will begin to roll out next year. We will provide details of these changes in future columns of KnowIT. We are also excited to offer a new core course on “Decision-making with Data Analytics” for our incoming full-time MBA students. This is another example of how we constantly look to improve our curriculum offerings in anticipation of the career aspirations of our students and the needs of our recruiters. We continue to grow enrollment in our undergraduate and graduate programs. As such, we are in the midst of hiring several new faculty members. Another benefit of being a highly ranked department is that we are able to attract high quality faculty from all around the world. We take pride in the collaborative culture we have built in our department and hope to continue to build on our successes to support our academic mission.
